A famous writer once said “Travel opens your heart, broadens your mind and fills your life with stories to tell.”
Hello. My name is Hannah. I am a patient, caring and friendly student who is always willing to learn. This year I will be a language assistant at Jesus Maria. I hope to encourage oral practice of English and support the schools language teachers to the best of my ability. I am currently an International Business student and took the plunge to move to Spain for the 2019/2020 academic year.
I am in love with cities I’ve never been to and people I’ve never met. I travelled from Ireland. A country filled with sweeping landscapes of rich green speckled with whites from happy sheep and music that will make your insides swell with joy. Family is a big thing in Ireland. Family values are ranked vey highly and it was a major challenge leaving them behind. Although, this is an experience I could not let pass me by. I fell in love with sport at a young age. I play an Irish sport called “camogie” and also teach Irish Dancing in my spare time. I love sports, especially when the weather is good. Which is not often in rainy Ireland.
I am living with a host family here in Badalona. Living with a Spanish host family excites me. I cannot wait to see, hear, smell, taste and feel things I have never experienced before.
In my opinion a good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning.
It is such an honor to be able to teach the students at Jesus Maria. I’m sure I will have an exciting day, every day.
I love adventures, so I’m excited to be working on something new and making this transition from Ireland to Spain, one to remember.
Don’t be scared to say Hello. A friendly hello speaks a thousand words.
